<p><a href="http://pregnancymomandbaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/6monthsWeb200.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-409" title="6monthsWeb200" src="http://pregnancymomandbaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/6monthsWeb200.jpg" alt="6monthsWeb200" width="200" height="250" /></a>Your uterus is about 2 inches above your belly button.</p>
<p>You may be experiencing <a href="http://pregnancymomandbaby.com/painanddiscomfort/Heartburn.html">heartburn</a>, <a href="http://pregnancymomandbaby.com/painanddiscomfort/Constipation.html">constipation</a>, indigestion, or <a href="http://pregnancymomandbaby.com/painanddiscomfort/GasStomachPain.html">gas pain</a>. Your uterus is squeezing on your intestines, leaving them less room to perform their usual tasks. Additionally, your muscles in your body, including those in your digestive tract, are relaxing due to hormone production. This causes your digestion to slow down, souring your stomach and allowing you to become constipated.</p>
<p>If you are having heartburn, try to eat smaller more frequent meals. If you are constipated, try increasing your fiber intake and make sure you are drinking plenty of water.</p>
<h3>How Big is Your Baby?</h3>
<p>Your baby is about 8 ½ inches long from crown to rump and weighs about 1 ¼ pounds.</p>
<h3>What Does a Fetus Look Like at 24 Weeks?  -  Video</h3>
<p>What a  baby looks like in the womb at 6 months (22 weeks since conception). <a title="By 21 to 22 weeks after fertilization, the lungs gain some ability to breathe air. This is considered the age of viability because survival outside the womb becomes possible for some fetuses." rel="nofollow" href="http://www.ehd.org/movies.php?mov_id=235&amp;cell=2" target="_blank">Click here to see</a></p>
<h3>How is Your Baby Developing?</h3>
<p><a href="http://pregnancymomandbaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/6Monthor24Weeks.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-410" title="6Monthor24Weeks" src="http://pregnancymomandbaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/6Monthor24Weeks.jpg" alt="6Monthor24Weeks" width="200" height="219" /></a>Your baby’s skin is red, wrinkled, and translucent still. Blood vessels and bone are visible through the skin. It will continue to create subcutaneous fat, which when complete will eliminate the translucency.</p>
<p>Your baby’s vocal cords are functioning. Its <a title="By 24 weeks the eyelids reopen and the fetus exhibits a blink-startle response. This reaction to sudden, loud noises typically develops earlier in the female fetus." rel="nofollow" href="http://www.ehd.org/movies.php?mov_id=236" target="_blank">eyes are moving and engage in rapid eye movements</a>, the activity that is associated with dreaming.</p>
<p>Your baby is becoming more coordinated with grasping of the hands and pedaling of the legs. You may feel your baby having hiccups.</p>
<h3>Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy</h3>
<p>You may begin to experience itching in your abdomen as your belly stretches. Try using moisturizing lotion, Vitamin E, or pregnancy creams. Make sure you are getting plenty of water each day. Keeping the skin well hydrated can minimize itching and stretch marks. Gentle stretching to the skin can also possibly help alleviate some itching and stretch marks, helping keep the skin less taught. You can read about this in the book <a href="http://www.PregnancyPainRelief.com">Pregnancy Pain Relief</a>.</p>
