What is Happening Inside Your Body?

9 Month Fetus View in the WombThe top of your uterus is about 6 ½ to 7 ½ inches above your belly button. Many women will not grow any larger during the last few weeks of pregnancy.

This last stretch of pregnancy can be the most difficult and trying. You are likely feeling tired, fatigued, having back and neck pain, and feeling anxious and emotional. You may be having trouble sleeping and finding a comfortable spot.

You are probably running to the bathroom often now, as the pressure on your bladder is increasing all the time.

You may not feel very hungry due to the pressure on your stomach, but keep eating frequent small meals. Also, be sure to keep well hydrated.

How Big is Your Baby?

Your baby is 17 ½ to 21 inches long and weighs about 6 ¾ pounds. Around this stage of pregnancy babies can vary a lot in height and weight. The average newborn is 21 ½ inches long and weighs 7 ½ pounds.

How is Your Baby Developing?

Your baby is still rapidly growing new connections in its brain. This will continue after birth.

Your baby’s organs are mature. Its movements are restricted due to the tight space.

Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy

This can be a challenging time emotionally. Waiting for your baby to be born and not knowing when the big moment will come can be stressful. Try to keep your mind occupied and keep yourself busy. Take time to meditate and clear your mind. Practice some relaxation techniques. This will also be a good preparation for your labor.
