Your uterus is now about 3 ¾ inches above your belly button. Your weight gain on average is between 17 and 24 pounds by this week of pregnancy.

You may be feeling increasingly uncomfortable in your body. Your ligaments and muscles are becoming more elastic. This can cause back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, pelvic pain, sciatica pain, and many other discomforts. Many women experience leg cramps as well.

Digestive upsets such as heartburn and constipation and hemorrhoids may also continue to be problematic.

You may be having difficulty sleeping, and your baby may be keeping you awake at night kicking.

How Big is Your Baby?

Your baby is about 14-16 inches long from head to toe and weighs about 2 ½ pounds.

How is Your Baby Developing?

Your baby’s lungs are now able to breathe air. Your baby is continuing to swallow amniotic fluid and its swallowing skills are improving as are its sucking ability.

Your baby’s sleeping and waking schedule are becoming more regular, however your baby most likely only sleeps for 20 to 30 minutes at a stretch.

Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy

28 Weeks Fetus 5 months If you are feeling uncomfortable in your body, try prenatal yoga. Swimming is also wonderful for the body and will help you feel more loose and flexible without any impact on your body. Taking a warm bath can also feel very soothing.

Meditation can also help you feel relaxed and refreshed. There are some wonderful CD’s that can help you enter a meditative state.

Some women find acupuncture, pregnancy massage, or chiropractic visits helpful in alleviating pain.

Week 32 of Your Pregnancy

At week 32 the top of your uterus is about 5 inches above your belly button now. As your uterus creeps up higher, your stomach may be feeling the squeeze, causing you to have heartburn.

Week 12 of Your Pregnancy

What is Happening Inside Your Body? Changes are becoming more noticeable now. Your uterus has grown large enough to almost fill your pelvis. You doctor should be able to feel your uterus inside your abdomen now.

Week 31 of Your Pregnancy

Week 31 Your baby’s reproductive system is continuing to develop. If your baby is a boy, his testicles are moving through the groin and into the scrotum.

Week 22 of Your Pregnancy

In week 22 of your pregnancy your uterus is now about ¾ inch above your belly button. Many women find this to be a comfortable phase of pregnancy.
